I reside in the Persimmon Community near Lake Burton. I knew from the age of twelve that I was going to be a nurse and, until my husband Matt and I retired here in 1998, that is just what I did. After our move, I knew I wanted to pursue my hidden self. Somewhere down there was a thread of creativity and free spirit.
I have no formal education in the arts but I didn’t let that stop me. I found classes in watercolor, stained glass work, jewelry making and dove in. I also found a group of supportive women who helped me relax and enjoy myself and to gently help me see that I can express my spirit in creative ways.
My newest love is working with seed and other beads onto fabric. I find the results beautiful and satisfying. I follow my heart and do it for me. If others appreciate my work, that is a blessed bonus.
